Character Education Values in Islamic Stories

Islamic story as one of the treasures in Islamic literature gives many benefits especially about  teaching character and personality indirectly. Not only gives the awareness of Islamic values, but also it provides knowledge of language and culture especially in the context of Islam. In Indonesia, there are 18 Character Education Values in Curricula 2013.The character values are Religious, Honesty, Tolerance, Discipline, Hard work Creative, Autonomous, Democratic, Curiosity, Spirit of nationality, 
Love of country, Appreciate achievement, Friendly/communicative, Peaceful, Love to read, Environmental care, Social care, Responsibility. The aim of the study is to describe the character education values in Islamic stories. The qualitative descriptive research was used in the study. Purposive random sampling was use to determine the object and content analysis was used to analyzed the data. There were nine Islamic stories in the study. The results of this research revealed that there are 15 of 18 character education in the Islamic stories, except democracy, love to read and environmental care.

Nilai - Nilai Pendidikan Karakater dalam Cerita Islami

Cerita Islami merupakan salah satu mahakarya dalam literatur Islam yang mana memberikan banyak manfaat terutama dalam pendidikan karakter dan kepribadian. Tidak hanya memberikan pemahaman mengenai nilai - nilai islam, akan tetapi cerita islami juga terdapat kandungan bahasa dan budaya terutama menyangkut konteks agama Islam khususnya. Di Indonesia, terdapat 18 nilai pendidikan karakter yang tertuang didalam Kurikulum 2013 (K13). Nilai pendidikan karakter tersebut antara lain religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, ingin tahu, nasionalisme, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, komunikatif/bersahabat, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, kepedulian sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Tujuan artikel ini yakni mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam cerita Islami. Studi ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Untuk menentukan objek, peneliti menggunakan teknik purpose random sampling dan content analysis (analisis isi) digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Digunakan 9 cerita islami dalam artikel ini sebagai objek. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada 15 nilai pendidikan karakter terdapat dalam cerita Islami, kecuali demokrasi, gemar membaca dan peduli lingkungan.
