When you decide to be an interpreters, you must prepare yourself as well. Below, there 5 tips for interpreting.

Anticipate

Means, you must train yourself. Train your skill and talent. Interpreters are essentially doing two things at once: listening and interpreting.

For example, whenever you are listening to someone speak, pay close attention and see if you can predict what they’re going to say next.

KEEP YOUR BRAIN SHARP

For instance, listen to a speech while focusing on another task. This can be something as simple as writing down a grocery list.

UNDERSTAND CULTURE

Language and culture always relate each other. Every country or region has its own culture. And, every word or sentence may have culture inside. So, prepared well on this term.

CONTROL YOUR VOICE

It’s important to keep voice at a reasonable volume. If it’s too low, people won’t be able to hear you. However, you may overshadow the speaker if your voice gets too loud. It’s important that you don’t attempt to match the volume and tone of the speaker. 

STAY CALM

Stay calm and remain focused on the task at hand.
